If you're a Washington resident wanting to vote in the new top-two primary election August 19th, you have until Saturday to register or update your address.  Under the new rules, the two top vote-getters will advance to the November Third general election, regardless of party affiliation.  Three major contests in Clark County are drawing heavy attention.  In the 17th legislative district, Joseph James is challenging state Representative Jim Dunn, both Republicans, with Tim Probst the sole Democratic candidate.  In the first county commissioner district, four Republicans, two independents and one Democrat are battling to replace retiring Democratic Commissioner Betty Sue Morris.  Incumbent Republican Marc Boldt is facing a three-way contest with Democrat Jeanne Harris and Independent Martyn Butler in the second commissioner district.  Registration is available online at vote.wa.gov.  Those without computers can get registration forms at libraries, city halls and auto licensing offices.

Tacoma, WA: A young Tacoma, WA boy who made national headlines for talking his way onto airline flights is in trouble again. 11 year-old Semaj Booker was arrested for breaking into a house.
Cops responded to a residence when a woman called 911 to report hearing noises coming from her daughter's bedroom. Officers found the boy in the bedroom, and he first told them he came in looking for his Gameboy, which someone had thrown through the window.
He then gave officers a fake name and said he was 14 years old.
Cops said the boy changed his story many times, at one point telling officers he had been running from gang members, and later saying his mother was in the hospital after having been shot.
When asked where he lived, he gave the officers multiple fake addresses and, after checking out three of them, he was taken to a detention facility.
